setHiddenMask()?

Hide a subset of atoms (e.g. those rendered as lines by a separate renderer). mask[i] === 1 hides atom i; null shows all. Composes with scale overrides without clobbering them.

Subscribe to ball-size changes: the per-atom radii (base radius × per-atom override, 0 for atoms that draw nothing) and the global multiplier on top. radii is null when only the multiplier moved, so O(1) scale / opacity updates stay O(1). The bond renderer uses both to trim each stick at the ball's surface. Fires immediately on subscribe; null unsubscribes.
